What is your fondest memory from LC swimming?

This is a tough question. There are so many wonderful memories that I will cherish for the rest of my life. If I had to choose, I would pick one from my last conference championship meet. Zach Simon (’17), a fellow teammate, dedicated his 100 butterfly race in honor of my final championship appearance. Watching him swim a lifetime best was one of the most inspiring moments I’ve had as a swimmer at LC. As soon as he finished, he hopped out of the pool.

Then he said “That was for you, Momo.” The greatest memories are the ones that are shared.

What do you hope to leave behind?

I hope I showed my teammates and friends what it means to live with heart.

What is your favorite swimming stroke?

My favorite stroke is the butterfly stroke.

What advice would you give to future LC swimmers?

Life is like the 200 fly, you can’t hesitate.

What are your post-grad plans?

After graduation, I plan on becoming an Aviation Rescue Swimmer for the United States Navy.

If you were to have a yearbook quote, what would it be?

“Keep living with heart.” – Chris Fantz

What is your fondest memory from LC swimming?

My fondest memory of my time at LC swimming would have to when I broke the school records in 500- and 1000-yard freestyles (records which had stood since the 1980’s) last season.

What do you hope to leave behind?

I hope that I leave an impression on my fellow and future LC swimmers with my tremendous work ethic, tenacity and heart for swimming.

What is your favorite swimming stroke?

My favorite strokes are the distance freestyle and butterfly strokes.

What advice would you give to future LC swimmers?

I’d tell any future LC swimmers that they should be a student first, then a swimmer second. You should always prioritize academics before anything else.

What are your post-grad plans?

I’m not sure as of yet. Maybe I’ll go to grad school or get a job somewhere, nothing is really set in stone yet.

If you were to have a yearbook quote, what would it be?

“Live everyday as if it would be your last, but plan everyday as if you’re going to live forever.”
