Robin Holmes-Sullivan’s Student Life Column

Welcome to Fall Term, Pios!

I hope that the beginning of the academic year is going well for all of you.  I am very excited that the new school year has begun. This year was my first New Student Orientation, Convocation, and welcoming of the first-year class at Lewis & Clark—and it was both impressive and humbling to meet so many wonderful, bright, and interesting first-year students.

I have been asked to write a regular column in the Pio Log—to keep students up to date with some of the things that are occurring on campus, what’s going on in the Division of Student Life on behalf of the student body, and to keep students informed about campus happenings—and I am thrilled to do so.
We are in the process of re-imagining the student experience at LC.  To do so, we need to hear from all of you!  We are currently going through a consultation period with an outside expert to help us collect data and opinions from all of you about what is needed in terms of spaces for students to gather, student activities and dining, transportation, and communication.  We want to hear from you. Let me know what you think is needed to make your experience more fulfilling and successful. Change happens when we work together and I am excited to imagine what the LC student experience will be with your help and input. Let’s make the fall a time of collaboration, re-imagining, and dreaming what we want the future to be.  I can’t wait to hear from all of you and to see what we can accomplish together. Feel free to drop by my office, join my advisory committee by applying at this link, or shoot me an email, I’d love to work with you!
