On Nov. 25, the women’s basketball team managed to beat the California Institute of Technology (Caltech) by one point in double overtime. The final score was 64-63. This bodes well for the team, as they are 4-2 for the season thus far.
The first game of the season took place on Nov. 15, when the Pioneers lost to the Oregon Institute of Technology 67-61. The following weekend saw the Pioneers win two games during the LC Bon Appetit Tip-Off Tournament. They beat St. Catherine University 79-69 on Nov. 18 and Corban University 70-69 on Nov. 19. On Nov. 21, the team won against Warner Pacific College 74-65, making it their third victory in a row.
This brief win-streak was broken Nov. 24 when the Pioneers lost 61-55 at Occidental College. But the most recent win against Caltech could indicate another upswing for the women’s basketball team.
