Fiona Eilers (News Editor)

Fiona Eilers is a junior at LC majoring in Political Science. She is excited to join as News editor for the first time after being a staff writer for the News section. She hopes to provide fast, accurate, and unbiased coverage of events to LC students. Fiona enjoys reading philosophy and political theory in her free time, particularly Arendt and Hegel. She recommends Arendt’s Eichmann in Jerusalem: the Banality of Evil as a must-read. Despite her hatred of the alienating nature of bureaucracy, she aspires to be a lawyer.

Will Trunzo (News Editor)

Hello! My name is Will Trunzo and I’m so excited to be one of your news editors for this upcoming semester. I’ve loved working as a sports editor, and I’m excited for the transition! I look forward to bringing the highest quality of reporting to the issues and events that impact us at LC.

Maya Mazor-Hoofien (Copy Chief)

After two well-archived years of writing and editing for The Mossy Log Maya is thrilled to be returning to the role of Copy Chief. She does, however, wish The Log had not changed the title from “Grammar Fascist” in the ’90s. She has loved her time at The Log and is excited to continue to grow as a journalist, storyteller and collaborator.

She is a lifelong artist, with a penchant for performing arts, fiber arts, music and all-things writing. Maya is an Economics major and English minor, a practical poet her parents can be proud of. She has four cats back home in the Bay Area who she misses dearly. She is a reluctant theatre kid and a chronic interrupter, which she realizes may be correlated. She’s excited to maintain her place among the liberal media elite.

Lauren Evans (Business Manager)

Lauren Evans is in her fourth year at Lewis & Clark. Originally from Bend, Lauren loves the city but desperately misses the sun. She is an Economics major and Data Science minor set on convincing her friends that math is fun. Having studied abroad in Greece last year, Lauren is excited to be back on campus as the flowers start to bloom and is looking forward to taking on the role of Business Manager for the Mossy Log this year.

Emma Ambroziak (Editor-in-Chief)

Hailing from Golden, Colorado, Emma is a journalist, creative writer, painter, photographer, barista and jewelry artist. She finds joy in mountains, scrumptious meals and color coordination. She is well on her way to becoming a crazy cat lady, and spends the little free time she has with her cat, Congressman Douglas (or Doug, SnuggleDoug, Douglas, Representative, etc…). She is an enthusiastic supporter of Lime electric scooters, and can be found scootering between her many jobs and responsibilities. She looks forward to the next year as Editor-in-Chief, and hopes to connect the Lewis & Clark community to the broader Portland Metro Area through journalism and photography.

Olivia Fendrich (Managing Editor)

Olivia is a second-year student hailing from Denver, Colorado. She is a Political Science major and English minor who has often been called the Confucius of her generation. She adored her last year editing for The Mossy Log and is honored to be taking on the role of Managing Editor. Outside of newspaper sleuthing, Olivia strives to optimize her potential by watching South Park, reading Wikipedia and crying in public. She is a proud Accutane warrior and once completed a New York Times Monday crossword in 4 minutes and 23 seconds.

How To Contribute

The Mossy Log holds weekly staff meetings every Monday at 5 p.m. in J. R. Howard Rm. 135. Staff meetings are open to all members of the Lewis & Clark community. Come and hear pitches for articles and visuals and connect with The Mossy Log’s editorial board.
